Semi-industrial conditions for biogas purification
and methanation pilot plants
The platform is aimed at all actors in the Biogas sector. It offers a unique R&D environment for those leading the development of new technologies, where they can conduct tests on a representative scale.
An experimental platform using industrial conditions
Solidia allows testing of pilot technologies that already work in the laboratory, but need experimentation under semi-industrial conditions before they can become commercial solutions.
The platform offers:
A representative industrial environment
Conduct pilot tests in an environment that represents real-world conditions. The platform can take you to TRL7 classification on the project maturity scale.
A supply of gas
Access biogas at up to 25 Nm3/h and hydrogen at up to 10 Nm3/h, using a network operating at a pressure of 10 bar.
Industrial safety standards
Benefit from a rigorous setup, testing your pilot plant’s conformity under realistic conditions (HAZOP risk analysis, safety plan, procedures, PLCs, sensors etc.).
A simple but effective Plug’n’Play concept
Save resources and get straight to the fundamentals, using a revolutionary turnkey solution where everything can be connected up in an instant.
Flexible, adaptable services
Adapt your pilot test bed to suit your needs, adding items to what is already there (gases, special systems etc.).
Gas quality assessment and monitoring
Benefit from service that measures and analyses the performance of your process, or challenge your sensors against those provided by the platform.
Optimised pilot monitoring
Benefit from enhanced monitoring of your pilot plant using the many analytical and measuring tools overseen by INSA (Indabox etc.).
Technical, analytical and scientific support
In addition to the material opportunities, the Solidia Biogaz platform provides a broad spectrum of expertise and peripheral skills through its partners and its scientific network.
Benefits of the platform:
For R&D and pilot plant advancement
• Support from CRITT GPTE and TBI in expertise, analysis and modelling.
• Backup from specialist research teams*.
• Support from INSA through its partnerships.
For pilot plant industrialisation
• Teréga’s skills in industrial safety procedures.
• Safety and ergonomic assessment of every process hosted.
• Pilot plant’s industrial conformity guaranteed.
• Education about the risks, managed by INSA and Teréga.
*TIM team (Transfer, Interface, Mixture): study of the existing transport phenomena for multiphase processes. Sophye team (Separation, Oxidation, Hybrid Processes and Environment): process engineering and sustainability science. Symbiose team (Microbial ecosystems and purification and recovery bioprocesses): study of bioconversion processes.
Join the Solidia Biogaz platform
As a true R&D platform, Solidia Biogaz is aimed at all those driving the development of technologies in the biogas/biomethane sector* who have experimented with their pilot plant in the laboratory and now wish to test it under semi-industrial conditions. It is also a teaching resource for higher education.
To conduct a study on a representative scale and to receive support for industrialising your process, send us your request
*Laboratories, universities, innovation centers, developers of purification and methanation technology on behalf of SMEs or large groups, network managers, gas energy companies.
Pilot validation process:
Platform support packages:
A project hosting agreement will be signed and will list all the legal aspects (confidentiality clauses for all those working on the platform, Intellectual Property*, regulations, safety clauses, obligations of each party), technical aspects (service descriptions and limitations) and financial aspects (all-inclusive price calculated using the INSA costing sheet, payment terms).
*unless otherwise requested, Intellectual Property remains with the project owner.
